Our main objective is to provide you with rapid and reliable communications when operating within our Service Area and we pride ourselves in delivering this service in the direction Air-to-Ground instantly through our HF radio circuits. Rest assured a contact with STO Radio equals a direct contact with the company proper.
In order to provide the same rapid and reliable service in the opposite direction i.e. Ground-to-Air, we strongly advocate an HF radio communication link via STO Radio be maintained between Crews in Flight and Operations/Dispatch at all times particularly when flying beyond the range of CUT VHF frequencies.
For that purpose we welcome and encourage a routine amongst pilots whereby an HF communication link on a suitable frequency is checked either as part of the pre-flight check or as soon as possible after take-off with STO Radio and that a SELCAL guard is maintained on this frequency or other frequency as the flight progresses.
